Source: - The Central Regional Director of the National Sports Stadium, Kweku Abedu Wilson, has told Citi Sports that the Cape Coast Stadium will soon be ready for use.

The construction, which started in October 2012, was being handled by Chinese firm IPPR International Engineering Corporation after the Ghanaian and Chinese governments signed an MOU for a 30 million.
According to Wilson, majority of the spaces designed for various sports has been completed and these spaces will be put to use in coming weeks.

“The project is about 95 percent complete. The basketball and handball courts have been completed. The tennis court is being laid as well as the tartan tracks.

The grass on the pitch is also being worked on. The debris from all the construction work is being cleared and I can say that within a short time, the stadium will be handed over.”

The stadium has a capacity of 15,000 and it is expected to play a key role in helping develop sporting talents in the region for the benefit of the entire nation.
