  • Edina Buronya (Local version of Christmas exclusively celebrated by the people of Edina) – 1st Thursday of the New Year - Elmina, Central Region
  • Akwanbo - Gomoa Abora, Central Region
  • MASQUERADERS FESTIVAL , Carnival of masqueraders from around the country celebrated on the 1st of January of every year. ( Winneba )

  • Aboakyer (Deer Hunting) – Late April or early May -Winneba ,17 miles west of Accra.– Central Region
    A hunting expedition by two Asafo groups to catch live
    antelope. The first group to present its catch to the Chief at
    a colorful durbar is declared winner and is highly regarded for bravery.

  • Bakatue – Fish Harvest - Edina/Elmina
    Central Region  - A royal procession of chiefs and stool holders riding in
    palanquins through principal streets to a sacred shrine where
    chiefs pour libation and sprinkle sacred food. Pouring of
    mashed yam and eggs into the Bake (lagoon), followed by
    scooping with a net, after which permission is given to fishermen to open the fishing season, after a ban. Festival culminates in a regatta.

  • Akwambo (Path – clearing) a Festival commemorating the clearing of foot path leading to rivers, farms & communal sites – early August.-Agona Nyakrom,-Central Region
  • Ahobaa (Festival commemorating end of epidemic, and in honour of a man called ‘Ahor’ who sacrificed his life to end the epidemic) – 3rd week -Gomoa Assin,- Central Region
  • Odambea (Commemorates the migration of the people of “Nkusukum” from Techiman to their present settlement at Saltpond -Saltpond- Central Region

  • Fetu Afahye (Festival commemorates first contact with the Whites) – 1st week -Ogua Traditional Area, Cape Coast,(Oguaa) -Central Region 
    A colorful procession of chiefs, amid drumming, dancing and
    firing of musketry. There is a uniqueness in the attire.
    Sacrifice of a cow to the seventy-seven (77) gods of Oguaa.
  • Akwanbo -Enyan Abaasa, Ajumako-Enyam Essian, Central Regionakwanbo festival
    it is celebrated yearly in the month of september that is first week in september
