Bought by Britain, in 1850. | | Teshie-Nungua is a new district ( LEDZOKUKU-KROWOR Municipal DISTRICT) in Ghana in the Greater Accra Region. Fort Teshie (or the old name Fort Augustaborg), built by the Danes in 1787, is located in Teshie and was occupied by the British from 1850 to 1957. Only some remainings of the old Fort. The national Officer Cadet Training School and Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) are also located here. Accra, population 1,970,400 (2005), is the capital of Ghana. ... Based in Ghana, the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) provides training and research in peacekeeping and peaceoperations. ... The Teshie people are well known for their no non-sense attitude and yet hospitable to all race and back ground.
The best part of the year to be at Teshie will be in August when the people celebrate their annual Homowo festival, it is colorful, enchanting and fun; you could almost walk in to any house and get served food.
