Kotoka International Airport in Accra is the biggest international airport in Ghana.

It is able to receive aircraft up to the size of a Boeing 747-400.

The airport was the main base of the Ghanaian airline Ghana Airways, which in the meantime has been replaced by

Ghana International Airlines.

It is one of the three main bases of the cargo line Aerogem Cargo.
In 2004, a new arrivals and departures terminal was opened which has completely transformed the overall look of the airport. Kotoka International Airport is now considered the best international airport in West Africa.
In 2004, approximately 806,500 passengers were checked in.
Kotoka International Airport was named after the General Major Emmanuel Kotoka.
