The Fort was built by

the Dutch in 1690 on the foundations of a trading post opened in 1642.

 

Fort Oranje (Orange)was taken over by the British along with the rest of the coastal area.

The Crown Colony of Gold Coast was created on 26 September 1901.

 

Das Fort wurde 1690 auf dem Fundament eines 1642 eroeffneten Handelsposten , von Hollandern errichtet.

Fort Orange wurde spaeter von den

Briten

uebernommen...

...mit dem Rest des Gebietes.

Am 26 September 1901 wurde das heutige Ghana zur "Kron Kolonie".
