All visitors to Ghana must be in possession of a valid passport or legal travel documents.

All visitors entering Ghana must have valid entry visa or, in the case of Commonwealth nationals, entry permits, issued by a Ghana diplomatic mission or consulate abroad or any other visa issuing authority mandated by the Ghana Government to act on its behalf.

ECOWAS nationals and those of other countries with which the Government of Ghana has specific bilateral agreements are exempted. Travellers are strongly advised to ensure that they have all the necessary documents before arriving in Ghana.

Check well that your passport will not expire within six months of your intended departure date.

Valid certificate of inoculation against Yellow Fever will be inspected at point of entry.

STUDY VISAS:

Should be accompanied by a letter (in english) from your college administrator or your professor, stating the reasons for your visit and your financial means whilst in Ghana. You should also provide a letter of acceptance from the institution to which you will be attached to during your practical training in Ghana. Please use the name and address of the institution in Ghana as your reference.

EMPLOYMENT:

Should be submitted with an employment contract, and proof of grant of employment quota in Ghana. Two (2) references are required, one of which should be the company or organisation you will be working for whilst in Ghana.

CHILDREN TRAVELLING ON PARENTS PASSPORTS:

Parents should submit seperate set of application forms on behalf of each child. Children will also pay the applicable fee.

VISAS BY POST:

Visa applications by post should be sent only by registered mail. Such applications should include a self-addressed envelope .

This form must be completed in capital letters and submitted together with your passport and 2 recend passprt-sized photographs . It takes a minimum of 4 working days to process applications.

Full names and addresses of references in Ghana should be stated ( including telephone numbers . Any information stated on this form and subsequently found to be incorrect may render Entry Permit / Visa void .

Applicants applying by post should provide self - addressed stamped envelops .

Payments can be made by postal orders or Banker`s Draft . Made payable to the Ghana High Commission .

Cheques in general are n o t acceptable . It takes a minimum of 10 working days for postal applications .
