Gomoa Fetteh Beach and Tills No 1 Beach Hotel
Gomoa, part of the former Gomoa Fetteh district, located in the Central Region of Akanland of Ghana.
Gomoa Fetteh is a coastal town, located off the Akotsi Junction of the Accra-Winneba road. It is generally known in local circles for the fishing and subsistence farming activities of its people. But it is the long, clean stretch of beach that causes people to visit Gomoa Fetteh.
Two of Ghana's most popular beach resorts are located at Gomoa Fetteh - Tills No. 1 Beach Resort, which is popular with families and backpackers, and White Sands, Ghana's exclusive, beach club. |
|
Tills is a hotel and restaurant and is close enough to Accra to enjoy for day use at a modest price. It is also a good place to boogie board and wind surf. Overnight accommodation is very basic and you can purchase an affordable annual pass to use beach. It is less than two hours' drive from Accra
White Sands is the complete opposite of Tills - very expensive (ca 1000 Euros / per night!) and exclusive, it attracts rather the super-rich people of Ghana, as evey normal European could just ad 1000 Euros, and have 7-10 days, included flight to the Maldives.... It has three restaurants and a bar and is separated from the mainland by a saltwater lagoon.
Apam was the capital of Gomoa district. The locals however called it Apaa instead of the Apam that others called it. Most of the people living in Apam were engaged in fishing, supplying the land-locked villages surrounding it with fish.

There is also a vibrant salt industry in Apam, in which salt is got from the lagoon. There is a secondary school and a hospital that serves the people of Apam and the surrounding areas.
One of the main attractions in Apam is a fort built by the Portuguese, called Fort Patience.
The people of Apam celebrate the "Akwambo" festival. Akwambo basically means "the making of a way". It is celebrated to make the time when their ancestors made their way to Apam. |
Tills No1 Beach Resort offers a beautiful white sandy beach, unspoiled and tucked away in a tranquil environment, away from the crowds. You will encounter a stress free, serene and a safe beach in a perfect placement for relaxation. One of very few areas for surfing.
Tills No1 restaurant offers appetizing Special German cuisines, Exotic seafood cuisines and Afro continental dishes plus specially arranged beach parties with bandstand, cultural and spinner music.
