Pinihini Amowi Cave Brong Ahafo region of Ghana
The Pinihini Amowi Caves in the Brong-Ahafo region of Ghana. Brong-Ahafo is one of 10 regions of Ghana, located in the middle of the country. Near Fiema, there are underground caves, called the Pinihini Amowi Caves, and the legend has it that the Bono people emerged from the Amowi caves and built their first town called "Yefiri“, meaning "We are coming out”. .
According to Bono Techiman traditions, their ancestors crossed the Black Volta River after a fierce battle with the Mossi people in the north. |

They then hid in the woods and caves of Amowi. Though the actual cause for the migration from the Amowi rock-shelter is not clear.
