The Kumasi Fort "Ghana Armed Forces Museum" - founded in 1952 -exhibits materials that primarily concern the British-Ashanti war of 1900, World War I + II and Ghanas Recent military history.
On display are maps, old photographs, and military regalia. Located in Kumasi in the Asante Region is one of the very few Military Museums in Africa. It has been an institution of learning primarily about the evolution and development of the Gold Coast Regiment of the Colonial era to the present Ghana. |

There is a British Military Cemetery just about 200m northwest of the Kumasi Fort and Military Museum, which contains graves of British casualties of the Yaa Asantewaa War.
The Kumasi Fort and Military Museum is open daily from 8:00am to 5:00pm, except on Sundays and public holidays.
A guided tour of the fort costs GH¢ 5.00. (as of Feb 2013). Fees might have changed, due exchange bank rates.
